Is it hard?
This course is not hard. But we do offer a lot of information you did not know before in a relatively short amount of time. If you stop during the program, do the homework, then return for the next segment you will find this training program makes a lot of sense. You might find it more challenging if you skip around or skip directly to the last segment. The training program is designed to build upon early learning segments.
How much time will it take to finish this program?
That depends. It will take longer if you are new to LinkedIn. We teach you how to set up a basic profile then build to personal brand and continuous improvement pretty quickly. It can take as little as a few days of attention to much longer, depending on how much effort you put into it. Katherine has built a completely robust LinkedIn profile from absolutely non-existent to robust in as little as a few hours. What are you willing to do to get what you want?
I can’t talk to people I don’t know. I just can’t. So how will this program help me?
You are not alone. I hear you. But networking is the best way to find a new job. LinkedIn is networking for shy people. Even folks who could never talk to strangers can create a robust LinkedIn profile that attracts opportunities. After a little practice, almost everyone can “talk” through LinkedIn messaging to people they don’t know yet. You will find LinkedIn serves your purpose and gives you power you never expected.
I already have a LinkedIn profile. I just don’t know what to do with it
Most people fall into this category. The average LinkedIn participant has about 300 connections with a flat profile. This training program shows you exactly how to boost your profile to robust, All-Star status then use it to find opportunities and be found.
Do you guarantee that if I complete this program I will find a job?
Job search, like so many other things, is 90% perspiration and 10% luck. We have found that with the proper job search techniques, like those found in this training program, our clients encounter a certain kismet that makes things happen. I can’t explain it. We know that these techniques work. We know that our clients get jobs fast but due to the “kismet” factor, we cannot make guarantees.
What if I have questions while taking this program or after I finish the program?
We know you will have questions! We welcome your questions at any time in our LinkedIn Group, Resume and Job Search Tips with the Interview Doctor. When you ask your questions in the LinkedIn Group, everyone can learn from each other. Plus you get the practice of using LinkedIn Groups to learn!
Are there homework assignments? Absolutely! Everyone gets homework with The Interview Doctor! That is the best way to internalize the complex ideas we discuss and figure out ways to turn these ideas into your own job search methods. Work at your own speed and ask questions in our LinkedIn Group, Resume and Job Search Tips with the Interview Doctor.
Why is LinkedIn important for job seekers?
LinkedIn has become a wonderful tool to connect job seekers with hiring managers seeking to add to their teams. Hiring managers can search LinkedIn like one big candidate data base. What is the difference between this course and having Katherine coach me one on one?
Great question! Katherine prepared this training program using the same approach she uses when she works with clients. Katherine will be talking to you on the videos. Katherine designed all the material. So you are getting Katherine. However, one on one coaching is much more personal. Katherine responds to the individual client’s specific needs on the spot and delivers exactly what the client needs when they need it. The online training program format makes that level of personalization impossible. We would love to arrange for you to work one on one with Katherine while you are taking this training program so we are offering a special rate of $500 for five hours of one on one coaching. Sign up any time!
I don’t have a computer at home. Can I still take this course?
Yes, you can take this course as long as you have access to the Internet on a computer. Public libraries usually have Internet-connected computers available at no charge. You could take this course at the library if you need to. APP for teachable you could access via your phone as well.
Will I interact with anyone during this course?
If you want to. We will answer your questions in the Interview Doctor’s LinkedIn Group Resume and Job Search Tips with the Interview Doctor. Just post your question in that Group and look for an answer shortly. We want everyone to participate. That way we learn from each other.
Do I have to take all lessons in order or can I skip around?
These lessons build on previous learning from earlier lessons. It makes sense to start at the beginning and move through each segment in order. However if you are a contrarian, feel free to bounce around. If you skip to a section in the back and feel like you missed something, you can always come back to an earlier section.
How fast can you finish this training program?
This is not a race! With that said, you complete lessons at your own pace. If you already have a LinkedIn profile, you might find yourself familiar the earlier lessons so you can breeze through those lessons. More complicated lessons are harder so you might stop the lesson, practice a bit, make some changes in your profile, then resume. It is completely up to you!
